What is “Darnton vs Clark”?

I’ve put up this blog to explain my lawsuit against Helen Clark over the “pledge cards” scandal. In the run up to the last election, the Labour Party produced “pledge cards” containing a series of election bribes. They paid for these cards using money from the parliamentary leaders fund, money that was appropriated for “parliamentary business”. “Parliamentary business” explicitly excludes “party political, promotional or electioneering material”.

Labour Party pledge card

While I firmly believe that everyone should be able to promote their own beliefs with their own money, the illegal use of public funds to pay for Labour’s election propaganda made me furious. I am determined to hold the wrong-doers accountable and to make sure that this abuse doesn’t happen again.

Way to go Bernard! I look farward to the posturing and squirming and unfortunatly, lies with great antisipation!!

  2. Doug Says:

This is just great! I am so sick of the Helen Clark being a sniveling, petty tyrant. The pledge card debacle was a prime example of her contempt for the law.

I will be donating money right away!

  3. Kevin Says:

Good on you Bernard. You’ve got balls. Unfortunately our gutless Police Department does’nt have any.

  4. Gman Says:

How can I help? where do I donate?

  5. Doug Says:

I just donated $15 (US dollars). This is a really worthy cause. There is a paypal link on the main page, here: http://www.darntonvsclark.org/

Good on ya Bernard, unforunately I suspect that the the politicised judiciary aided and abetted by the Corrupt law office will find a way to weasel out of responsibilitty on behalf of dear leader. At least this will keep the Labour party in an unfavourable light and hopefully the next court of public opinion will consign them to the opposition benches for a decade.

ya just cant trust the closet Lesbian !!

  8. Ernest Says:

We have a sycophantic police hierachy who appear to feel that miz clark can do no wrong. Its about time that someone took a firm stand against this creeping ennui that seems to afflict the office of the attorney general and the prosecutorial arm of the police.

  9. Mark Says:

Well done I suspect that mainstream media may ignore this or look for dirt on Mr.Darnton. Perhaps Mr.Darnton will be refered to as another “Creep” by Ms.Clark.

As for previous coments about Police I have become more and more cynical as the allegations have mounted a quick check list here I could be wrong but each one of these had a “prima Facie” case proven
    Doongate
    Corngate
    Paintergate
    Motorcadegate
    Bensonpopegate
    Attorneygeneralfraudgate
Here’s one with no case? I think there is a connection
Telecomgate (not really spotted i think by a lot of people but leak from Helen’s office which took heat off govt for sharp drop share price, it was going to happen any way but Helen took no blame or critism for the decline it after all it was ‘leaked’)

And this one Pledgegate there are more hopefully this one sticks.

  10. Andrew Bannister Says:

Bill, honestly, what does lesbian have to do with anything. This is about inappropriate use of taxpayer money - adding your own prejudices to this just makes you look stupid!!

Good luck Bernard, but I don’t like your chances.

  11. Andrew Bannister Says:

Oh, and Mark, this is very different from the others you mention. If you can’t see that you need to have a long hard think.

  12. Mark Says:

Yes Andrew they are all different but show a continuation of a theme

    …I do wrong… I do a criminal act (sometimes)… I lie….I cover up

Everyone of the above mentioned “gates” involved PM and subsequent cover up.

I do agree that this one is different but they would make for a good over view of the way in which the PM sees herself and the incumbant govt.

    Yes?No?
But I do stand by my comment of each one having a common theme of offending lying and cover up with no prosecution but a ‘prima facie’ case being conceded.
But I wont have a long hard think …I’ll have a short drink and a laugh instead.

  13. Zebedee Says:

Brilliant!!! Go get ‘em with all guns blazing. I too can’t wait for the spin, weasel words and blatant redefinition of legal terminology in yet another blatant attempt to slither out of this one.

  14. Frank Respinger Says:

My complaint to the Police Commissioner’s Office 10 February 2006 and subquent complaints on the same subject have all I allege been buried.
All MPS including Bernard Darnton have received copy of this and other material. Not one MP has responded. Opening paragraph printed below:

    31 July 2006
“WARNING TO Members of Parliament, Officials in the Bureaucracy supplied by the taxpayer to support our Democratic Parliament and members of all other Government appointed bodies including the media:

Remember you are in the service of the Crown and as such are subject to the laws of this land. Sections of the Crimes Act 1961 are applicable to those in the Service of the Crown

Alleged breaches of any statute by those in the Service of the Crown should by natural justice be investigated. Members of Parliament have ganged together to prevent an extended inquiry into the activities of ex Minister Phillip Taito Field. It is a scandal that the Prime Minister 10 months ago ordered a toothless inquiry at a cost of nearly $1 /2M that resolved little but raised allegations of further corruption. However it is par for the course for our Prime Minister who told the House 10 April 2003 “That all allegations of corruption would be investigated”. One week later she turned her back on: “CORRUPTION (PUBLIC SECTOR). This was an allegation against the Police. It was “buried”.

    Cheers Frank

  15. Eric Marsh Says:

Par for the course Frank. What is needed is an albatros!
    Cheers Eric
